The Police's East Rutherford, New Jersey concertAugust 5, 2007Review by Raj Manoharan. I was so mesmerized by the reality of seeing The Police for the first (and possibly last) time in my life that, aside from show openers Message in a Bottle and Synchronicity II, I don't remember the order of the setlist, so I listed as many songs as I could remember by album. If this is indeed their last time together, it is a proper and dignified sendoff, compared to that ridiculous getup Sting wore on the Synchronicity tour. I was one of 55,000 fans (by Sting's count) to have the privilege of enjoying this glorious evening. While Sting and Stewart Copeland were in fine form, the real showstealer was Andy Summers. He often took center stage for fiery extended solos, and for a man of 64, he was amazingly the most energetic of the three. At one point, his hopping and jumping got the crowd going wild. He even wore his trademark black sportcoat and trousers, as well as the striped shirt from the Regatta de Blanc cover. Seeing the three of them together is an experience not to be missed.
