The Police's Buenos Aires, Argentina concert

I also have to say that I could attend the second concert in Argentina. It was something unthought by me. And I tell you how it was. I arrived home from the first concert and I felt happy for everything I had lived but I felt a bit sad and nostalgic because I will not see them again. And I thought: “Carmen, you have to attend the second concert. It is your last opportunity”. So the following day , I phoned Ticketek, the company in charge of selling the tickets , and they told me that there were tickets left, and at different prices!!! Later , I received a message from Mariana, a friend of mine , who was interested in attending the concert. So we arranged everything to meet and buy the tickets at the stadium. We bought the tickets for platea alta sin numerar( not numbered seats). They were not so expensive as the one I had bought for December 1st.

We arrived at River Plate Stadium at 7 p.m. and bought the tickets and at 7:30 p.m., we were already inside the stadium. We could get good seats , from a good angle to watch the show. We could also enjoy Beck’s show. I thought that I would not like their songs but I liked some of them. He has a good band and the sounds of his guitar are pleasant to the ear. He seems a bit strange. He is called “the witch”. I think this is because he wears a witch’s hat.. He received a big applause. And it is good at times to hear new music. This was something new to me because the previous day I had arrived later as I thought his show will not be good but I was mistaken . Now , I realize that I have not to prejudge!! And take it into account.

The Police started punctually as the previous day and the show finished five minutes before than the previous day. Perhaps they sang more quickly, I don’t know how to explain this. The songs were the same but the order of some songs were changed. But they started with “Message in a Bottle” and finished with “Next to you”. The audience of December 2nd celebrated the same songs as people of December 1st.My friend Mariana is not a hardcore fan as I am but she admires and respects The Police, and considers them important in music. She really liked “Walking in your footsteps” and was fascinated with Stewart’s talent with his instruments. She sang many of their well-known songs too.

It was a nice night and the lights effects were the same but for me it was something special and different at the same time. It was different because I was not attending the concert alone. I was with a friend and I was in a different place in the stadium. I was in a higher place but I could see quite well. But as I told you , it was special, because, it would be the last time I will see them in Argentina, for the time being. So I enjoyed every minute of the concert.

I also have some souvenirs from both The Police shows in Argentina. I have bought a t- shirt with an update picture of the three of them and the letters with the date and place of the concert. I also bought a quite big pin again with the Police’s picture and words with the place and day of the events in Argentina. I also have six bags with The Police’s pictures and with all the days of the tour written on their sides. There were two different kind of bags and they are really nice!! . I did not buy them. I saw them at the merchandising stalls and I just asked the boys if they gave them to people. They said: “Yes” and the gave them to me. My friend also got two of them.

And it was nice, because I took them to school and my pupils had a look at them and talked about the concert. Some of their parents and relatives had attended the concert too! Another day , I took the pin in my school bag and they noticed it and liked it. And finally I took the t-shirt!!! They asked me about The Police, the name of his members, etc. They realized that I was a real big fan!! And the same happened to my friend with the bags, because she is a teacher too.

So don’t miss this show!. It is a fantastic experience and you will be able to transmit what it is to be there with these three monsters, to your friends, family, workmates, relatives or to whoever you want !! And specially, it will be a unique and amazing experience for you!!! You will never forget it, I can assure you! Even though you are not a great fan
