I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I saw them twice in
London in the early eighties and know all their stuff inside out. I agree
with 1 or 2 of the other reviewers who have commented that the quieter
tracks (walking on the moon, wrapped around your finger) seemed to work
better. Unfortunately, and I must say this frustrates the hell out of
me when I've paid a lot of money for the tickets, the sound in the
Olympic Stadium was pretty poor. You would think after playing so many shows
around the world on this tour that their sound engineers would be able
to get it vaguely right? I was quite a way back which def didn't help
but the guitar mix was verging on dire, which obviously isn't Andy's
fault but it def detracted from the show. Someone I know went to see them
in Melbourne 2 days later having also been to the Sydney gig and he
said the sound mix in Melbourne was much much better. A shame for the
Sydney fans though! Ho hum, will wait for the DVD, I'm sure they'll get it
right on there.
