Amazing show. This was the fourth time I've seen the
Police, the first on the reunion tour -of the four, this was easily the
best. What made it all work was the enthusiasm of the band - they were
clearly glad to be there, and played to every corner of the Verizon
center. Sting's voice was remarkable - he's put a lot of time on vocals
training and it shows - easily the smoothest and most harmonic of his
perfomances over the years. Vastly improved over the Synchronicity tour when
he was reduced to chanting in the later stages. Andy's stamina is a
marvel - he's as innovative and silky a guitar player as ever. Stuart
hasn't missed a beat (so to speak) - he roamed over two intricate drum
kits, and all with the infectious enthusiasm of a teenager. But what made
it work most of all was how the Police went back to their roots. No
backup singers, etc. Just three guys on a stage, but with an updated
sound&light presence to exceed today's hottest acts. Best concert ever.
