The band worked very hard, and I am sure that what they
were hearing was great. But for me in the audience, the sound was
absolutely appalling. I was over on the left (as you look at the stage) and
we could not hear Andy's guitar at all. It was only when he changed
over to a Telecaster after about an hour that he got turned up and we
could hear him, but even then the mix was shocking. I actually think that
the sound technician might have thought 'I'll check Andy's levels now
that he has changed guitar' only to find he was turned down to ZERO
certainly on the left side if not the entire rig. Amateurish in the extreme.
Ruined the entire night as far as a was concerned and judging by the
very muted reaction from those around us, then I think they felt the
same. I am not blaming the band by the way, this was a technical fault.
And for the record, the sound for the support acts was even worse all you
could hear was the bass drum - appalling.
