I went to the concert with my wife, my two teenage sons
and some friends. We were a multi-cultural group of spectators from 16
to 55 in age. All of us had a great time at the concert. The teenagers,
who have listened to the Police a bit but were never fans, really
liked the group and their music. They've seen a few big names, like the
Stones and Paul McCartney and they put this concert up there at the same
level. I've seen a few critical professional reviews and some
unfavorable ones from fans. I wonder if they saw the same concert we did.
Granted, Sting's voice isn't as high at 50+ as when he was 20 - but who's is?
Stuart Copeland is a great drummer. Andy Summers is a great rythm
guitarist (solos so-so). If you want to see the Police and you're wondering
if it's worth it, I say go for it. We were in the 'Golden Circle',
which means we were close enough to see the whites of their eyes. I'd
recommend that to anyone who is willing to spend a few extra bucks, Euros or
whatever. Paul
